„Was für Yoga du unterrichtest eigentlich??“ werde ich immer wieder gefragt. Hmmm, gar nicht so einfach eine knackige Antwort darauf zu finden, vor allem dann nicht – wenn das Gegenüber mit einem Ohr schon wieder ganz wo anders ist und du weißt, dass du dich jetzt echt kurzfassen musst.
„Hmm, im weitesten Sinne nennen es manche Hatha-Yoga“
„Aha…“ antwortet mein Gegenüber stirnrunzelnd, wobei uns beiden klar ist, dass dieses „Hatha“ Spielraum für allerhand Fantasien lässt und weder „Fisch noch Fleisch“ bedeutet.
„Also in meinen Stunden geht’s eher „entspannt“ zu“ –
„Aha… – also keine Körperübungen?“
„Oja, schon – Körperübungen, so genannte Asanas werden mit Achtsamkeit, Konzentration und so weit als möglich in Übereinstimmung mit dem Atem ausgeführt“.
„Hmmm…Und das ist nicht fad??“
„Kommt ganz auf dich drauf an – Yoga unterscheidet sich primär durch seine innere Haltung von anderen Gymnastikübungen. Dadurch, dass du dich neugierig, konzentriert und freundlich gestimmt deinem Körper und Geist zuwendet. Dass du deine Körper- und Bewegungsräume erkundest und dabei den Atem als deinen Anker verwendest… … und ja:
das kann ganz schön anstrengend sein – weil wir Multitask-Menschen es manchmal echt schwer aushalten, runterzufahren – aber keine Sorge, ich versuche meist einen „anschlussfähigen“ Unterricht zu machen – d.h. viele Leute wollen auch körperlich gefordert werden – und das nehme ich natürlich ernst und versuche, sie dort auch abzuholen und dennoch: die Qualität, der Zugang, die Haltung macht Yoga zum Hatha-Yoga“
„Aha…Und was bedeutet jetzt dieses Ha-tha?
Die Silbe bzw. der Laut „HA“ ist ein Symbol für die Sonne und die Silbe bzw. der Laut „THA“ ist der Mond, so heißt es . Somit bedeutet Hatha-Yoga die Vereinigung von Sonne und Mond – zwei scheinbaren Gegensätzen.
Hatha-Yoga versteht sich als Werkzeug, um Balance in Körper und Geist zu schaffen. Balance schaffe ich dann, wenn alles zuerst Platz haben darf: Anspannung und Entspannung… wenn ich diese Gegensätze nicht als miteinander-Kämpfend, sondern als gleichberechtigt wahrnehme…und somit irgendwann in der Mitte herauskomme..
„Hmmm….?????“ –
„Aber weißt du was?“ – „Ich kann dir viel erzählen und gerade im Yoga wie bei vielem im Leben gilt, was Konfuzius bereits zum Besten gegeben hat:
„Erzähle mir und ich vergesse.
Zeige mir und ich erinnere micht. Lass es mich tun und ich verstehe“.
Was ich damit sagen möchte ist: Yoga will erfahren, will ausprobiert werden…
So lautet auch das aller erste Sutra (Wörter, die auf einer Kette aufgefädelt werden) im Yoga-Sutra:
atha yoga-anusasanam (Sanskrit)
Und das bedeutet „Jetzt beginnt Yoga, das auf Erfahrung fußt – schau dir doch mal eine Yogaeinheit bei jemandem an, der*die dir empfohlen wird…. und spüre selbst, was Yoga sein kann… empfehlenswert ist, mindestens 2-3 Einheiten zu besuchen, bevor du für dich entscheidest, ob du weitermachen möchtest oder nicht, denn Yoga ist zwar ein Zustand und vor allem ein Weg…an dem man dranbleibt…und der sich manchmal erst mit der Zeit offenbart…“
