Körperzufriedenheit und die social media Yogaszene – ein Widerspruch?

Ich beschäftige mich schon seit Längerem mit Körperzufriedenheit und Selbstwert. Damit, welchen Einfluss die wahnsinnig aufwendig inszenierten Selbstdarstellungen auf diversen social Mediaplattformen auf unsere Lebenszufriedenheit haben.

Ich bin zunehmend schockiert, manchmal amüsiert, oft auch traurig über das, was im Zuge dessen im Westen unter „Yoga“ präsentiert und verkauft wird. Von den abertausenden „spirituellen“ Menschen da draußen, die nichts besseres zu tun haben als sich selbst aufwendigst in Szene zu setzen mit Akrobatikübungen, die weniger mit Asanas als viel mehr mit surrealistischen Körperkampfansagen zu tun haben. Sorry, aber da spricht der Zorn aus mir.

Der Yogaweg, so wie ich ihn verstehe beschäftigt sich doch damit, wie wir diese Körperbesessenheit hinter uns lassen; damit, wie wir erkennen, dass unser Geist sich leicht manipulieren lässt von der kapitalistischen Bedürfnismaschinerie. Eigentlich versuchen wir uns doch davon zu befreien, oder etwa nicht ?! Ich habe das Gefühl, dass da eher ein Milliardengeschäft gefüttert wird…

Leute, das ist nicht gerade hilfreich für jene, die wir inspirieren wollen für einen Weg zu mehr Selbstzufriedenheit, Ruhe und Verbundenheit. Einen Weg, der nach Innen führt und nicht auf das Äußere fixiert bleibt.

Ja, es ist wichtig, sich im Körper Zuhause zu fühlen, sich selbst als lustvoll und lebendig zu erleben; das funktioniert aber nicht mit einer never-ending Optimierungsfalle, sondern mit einem prinzipiellen Ja! zu sich selbst und ein Annehmen und in Kontaktkommen mit seiner körperlichen Menschlichkeit. Und die ist nicht perfekt und trotzdem supitrupi! Wenn wir lernen, die täglichen medialen Manipulationen zu durchblicken, wird der Weg frei zu mir selbst. Dann lass ich mich nicht mehr so leicht ablenken sondern finde eher Raum zum Hinspüren, Wertschätzen und mit dem Gut-sein-können, was ist: äußerlich und innerlich. Dann wird auch der Weg frei zu tiefer, angstfreier körperlicher Begegnung.

Ich glaube fest daran, dass es möglich ist und unsere Aufgabe als Yogalehrende, Menschen in ihrer Körperzufriedenheit zu unterstützen und zu inspirieren. Es geht meines Erachtens nicht um Hochleistungen oder darum in der hippsten Legging im Schnee einen Handstand zu performen. Außerdem kann ich mir kaum vorstellen, dass ein Handstand im Schnee, der schnell über die Bühne gehen muss, einen dabei unterstützt, Ruhe und Kraft zu tanken. Dabei geht es doch lediglich um einen kurzlebigen Aufmerksamkeitsboost durch zahlreiche „Likes“. Aber ist das nicht die Gier und das Anhaften, das sich dann in einer solchen Aktion ausdrückt?

Ich möchte wirklich keine Spaßbremse sein. Es geht mir nicht darum, dass ich keine Selfies mehr auf Insta von  Yogi-nis* sehen möchte. Nein, das ist es nicht – das schafft ja auch ein Gefühl von Nähe – und ich poste ja ab und an auch welche 😉 Und man darf und soll natürlich das Schöne zelebrieren und inszenieren – – ich spüre jedoch ganz starke Getriebenheit …

Ich wünsche mir „Ehrlichkeit“ , ich möchte „Menschlichkeit“ – ich möchte „Verletzlichkeit“ und bitte bitte Mittelmäßigkeit. Jetzt werde ich gierig: ich will ein sinnliches Hineinspüren und ein liebevolles in den Arm-Nehmen der inneren Vergleicher*innen und Kritiker*innen. Ich wünsche mir ein neugieriges Erforschen und Anerkennen der körperlichen So-heiten und Möglichkeiten und schließlich ein Loslassen und Respektieren des Alterungsprozesses…
